EUROPEAN ASSOCIATION OF CAREER GUIDANCE

The European Association of Career Guidance (EACG), established in 2010 during the CAREER-EU Conference, is a professional network that promotes the exchange of knowledge and best practices among career guidance counsellors and HR professionals across Europe. EACG supports the implementation of the Europe 2020 Strategy, contributes to improving education and employment standards, and actively engages in EU-funded projects. The Association organizes training, seminars, and conferences, and publishes resources to support vocational education, career development, and EU policy awareness.

FORAVE is a vocational/technical private school located in Vila Nova de Famalicão, one of the most industrialized councils of the Ave Valley, in the North of Portugal.

Established in 1990, FORAVE prepares qualified citizens for active life (level 4 courses) and adult students trying to improve or acquire new skills, through tailored training. It is a reference school in the areas of study it offers to the community answering the demands of the market in the areas of Company Management, Industrial Maintenance, Electronics and Automation, Polymer Industry, Mechatronics, and ICT.

At present, FORAVE is implementing two Technological Centres, an IT Technological Centre, to create a reference centre in the field of information technology, with a focus on offering courses in the areas of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, data storage and protection, and cybersecurity, meeting the needs of local companies and vocational trainees, and an Industrial Technological Centre that will contribute to the development of new professional profiles, aligned with the innovation and attractiveness of the region’s industrial sectors and specialized and skilled in digital areas, automation, electronics and mechatronics and able to contribute to the sustainability and competitiveness of companies.

The great connection established between FORAVE and the companies has contributed to the development of training courses, increasingly fitted to the needs of the companies, which also host our students and teachers for training periods and job shadowing activities.

FORAVE has been involved, as a coordinator or as a partner, in several European projects since 2003.
Our school prioritises providing learners with knowledge at the highest technical level and encourages teachers to explore new paths of knowledge as well. Continuous learning and innovation are essential in today’s rapidly evolving world, particularly in technical fields where advancements occur frequently. That´s why our students and teachers are encouraged to attend training abroad or to experience job shadowing periods in companies with high levels of expertise in our areas of study.
In addition, FORAVE also hosts students and teachers from European partners to have their WBL, traineeships, or job-shadowing periods in local companies.

FORAVE is also a founding member, and board member, of INNOTECS, an international organisation for deans and directors of Technical schools, mainly focused on vocational educational training level and high school level.

Politeknika Txorierri is a leading educational center located in Derio, Bizkaia, Spain, offering specialized training in Vocational Education and Training (VET) at both EQF Level 4 and 5.
